Your IP address, provider and blocklists

The address every site sees when you connect, the network it belongs to and its reputation in spam blocklists. Your browser asks the sources itself, and this page keeps nothing.

The dot marks the approximate city. GeoIP databases know location to the city at best, not the street.

Country in five GeoIP databases

Sites pick your country from one of these databases. When the databases disagree, two shops can show you prices for two different countries.

Spam blocklists (RBL)

Mail servers and anti-fraud systems check addresses against these lists. A listing means spam or attacks came from this IP or its network.

Network reputation (ASN)

Some lists record a whole provider network by its ASN instead of a single address. A clean IP from that network then gets blocked too.

WebRTC, time zone and User-Agent

Sites compare these with your IP. A mismatch gives away a proxy or VPN even when the address itself is clean.

Proxy anonymity check

A proxy can add Via, X-Forwarded-For or Forwarded headers to a request. From them a site learns that you came through a proxy, and sometimes sees your real IP. Below are the headers the RemProxy server received when you opened this page, plus the reputation of your network.

Questions about IP addresses

01Why do sites show different cities for my IP?
Each site uses its own GeoIP database, and the databases update on different schedules. Providers move address blocks between cities, so the city often differs while the country matches.
02What does ASN mean?
An ASN is the number of the network your address belongs to. The provider name next to it tells you who owns the block: a home ISP, a mobile operator or a company.
03My IP is in a blocklist. What now?
With a dynamic home address, restart the router and you get a new IP. With a static one, find the cause, such as an infected device or an open mail relay, and request removal on the list site. Most lists drop old entries on their own within days.
04Which address goes into the RemProxy whitelist?
The IPv4 of the machine that sends requests through the pool. For a server, run the command from this page on the server itself, not on your laptop. One account holds up to 10 addresses.
05Does the page save my IP?
No. The checks run in your browser, which queries ipinfo.io, ipapi.co, ipwho.is, GeoJS, Cloudflare and public DNS directly. Your browser contacts the RemProxy server only for the header check and the Spamhaus ASN lookup. The server answers and keeps no results.
06What is a WebRTC leak?
WebRTC lets the browser make calls and can learn your address past the proxy. When the WebRTC IP differs from the connection IP, a site sees both and knows you are behind a proxy. Turn WebRTC off in your antidetect browser or with an extension.
07Why compare the time zone with the IP?
A site takes the country from your IP and the time from your computer clock. A German IP with a Moscow clock tells the site you are not in Germany. Antidetect browsers set the time zone to match the proxy; a regular browser does not.
08What do elite, anonymous and transparent proxy mean?
These are anonymity levels based on request headers. An elite proxy adds no headers of its own, so the site sees an ordinary visitor. An anonymous proxy writes Via or X-Forwarded-For without your address: the site knows it faces a proxy but not who is behind it. A transparent proxy passes your real IP in X-Forwarded-For. The Proxy anonymity check block on this page shows the level of your proxy.

Need addresses for mass tasks?

MIX pools of up to 25,000 IPs, unlimited traffic, HTTP and SOCKS5, access by IP. A test hour costs $1.
